The upper level low in the southern Plains will continue to move
east while strengthening a surface low that will pull north across
portions of the Mississippi Valley, sparking an additional round of
showers and thunderstorms with potentially high rainfall rates
across portions of the Southeast. The low pressure will continue
trackng northeast towards the Mid-Atlantic region on Sunday. This
will finally pull the stationary frontal boundary to the east over
the weekend, bringing an end to this prolonged period of heavy
rainfall. Scattered instances of flash flooding will be possible
in the Lower Mississippi Valley and in southern and central
Appalachians through today. Any additional rainfall will also
exacerbate ongoing river flooding through the weekend.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 900 PM CST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
