At 1000 AM EDT...A stationary front was draped across North
Florida and the Florida Panhandle. South of the front, anomalous
moisture was streaming northward out of the Gulf of Mexico. Radar
showed scattered showers and thunderstorms producing mainly light
to moderate rainfall across portions of the southern Florida
peninsula and the Florida Keys. However, more widespread moderate
to locally heavy rain and strong thunderstorms were located just
offshore south of Naples and southwest of the Everglades, slowly
moving inland from west to east.

Heavy rainfall will continue to impact South Florida and the
Florida Keys today, and some locations could see additional
rainfall amounts up to 2-4 inches with locally higher amounts
possible. Flash flooding will remain possible, and a Slight Risk
of Excessive Rainfall is in effect for the far southern tip of
Florida. Rainfall should lessen this weekend, but some additional
showers will be possible which may continue to exacerbate any
ongoing flooding or flash flooding.
