At 800 AM CST...A low pressure center was located offshore the
eastern tip of Maine with a central pressure of 1005 mb or 29.68
Hg. An associated cold front extended southwestward across the
Carolinas and Deep South, with much cooler and drier south pushing
southward across areas that saw widespread daily record highs
yesterday. Farther north, snow continued to lighten in extreme
eastern Maine, with latest RADAR and surface observations
depicting the heaviest axis of snow now located in Nova Scotia.

Any remaining light snow will come to an end in eastern Maine this
morning with minimal additional accumulations expected as the low
pressure system quickly departs northeastward into the Canadian
Maritimes. Much colder air in the wake of the system will slowly
push eastward throughout the day as an associated cold front
sweeps through the region. Cold air in conjuction with gusty winds
will produce lake-enhanced snow showers throughout the day across
Upstate New York downwind of Lakes Erie and Ontario before
conditions begin to improve this evening.
