Michigan and southern Maine.

At 800 PM CST...The winter storm system was analyzed over the
eastern Great Lakes region with a central low pressure of 1010 mb
(29.83 in of Hg). A cold front extended southwest from the low
pressure center, stretching from the eastern Great Lakes to East
Texas. Southerly flow ahead of the front is creating mild and warm
conditions for much of the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic while
northwesterly winds behind the front are pushing cold arctic air
into the Plains and Upper Midwest. National Weather Service radar
and surface observations show moderate snowfall spreading across
northern New England and freezing rain and sleet across southern
New England.

Periods of snow, freezing rain, and sleet are forecast to continue
across New England through Friday morning. Locally heavy snowfall
will be possible in interior New England, particularly in Maine
where an additional 4-6 inches of snow will be possible. Localized
ice accumulations greater than a tenth of an inch will be possible
for portions of southern interior New England. Treacherous travel
conditions and scattered power outages are expected in areas with
heavy snowfall and icing. Frigid temperatures over the Upper
Midwest will move through the Great Lakes and into the Northeast
by the start of the weekend. At
