...The threat for freezing rain and sleet across the Southern
Plains and Mid-South has ended...

At 800 PM CST...The western fringe of the precipitation shield
centered across the Southern Plains and Mid-South had pushed
eastward out of the region of below-freezing surface temperatures,
with heaviest precipitation rates located in Alabama and Georgia,
where surface observations reported temperatures in the upper-30s
and mid-40s. As a result, precipitation was falling as rain across
the entierty of the region, with freezing rain and sleet having
had come to an end.

Precipitation will slowly push eastward and eventually move
offshore through the Friday morning and afternoon hours. Surface
temperatures remaining above freezing will keep precipitation
falling as rain, with no additional freezing rain or sleet
accumulation forecast for the region.
