California and the Great Basin...

Winter Storm Warnings are in effect over the Sierra Nevada,
Transverse Range, and southern Great Basin.

Flood Warnings are in effect for select portions of the Central
Valley and in coastal southern California.

Flood Watches are in effect for coastal portions of central
California.

At 600 PM PST...Regional radar imagery detected scattered showers
and thunderstorms over portions of central-southern California and
the Great Basin. This activity is occuring along and behind a
north-south oriented occluded frontal system analyzed along the
California-Arziona state line.

The rain and mountain snow with this system is forecast to wind
down through tonight. Additional light to moderate rainfall and
mountain snow is possible over California Wednesday as a system
approaches from the northwest. Otherwise, California will finally
see dry conditions set in as high pressure builds in over the
eastern Pacific.
