...Areas of moderate to heavy snow to spread across North Dakota
into northwestern Minnesota overnight...

Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are in effect
from northern portions of the northern Rockies and northern Plains
into northwestern Minnesota.

High Wind Warnings remain in effect for portions of southern
Wyoming.

At 900 PM CDT...An upper-level trough, currently moving into the
northern Plains, interacting with an outbreak of arctic air from
Canada continued to produce the season's first significant
snowfall event from the northern Rockies to the northern Plains. 
National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated widespread light
snow with areas of moderate and locally heavy snow spanning from
eastern Montana into the western and northern Dakotas. Farther
west, scattered light snow showers were noted over the northern
Rockies. Precipitation and colder air were translating eastward
with rain changing to snow across the North Dakota/Minnesota
border.

As the main upper-level trough begins to eject eastward across the
north-central U.S. through Friday morning, the heaviest snowfall
is forecast to focus across eastern North Dakota into northwestern
Minnesota while snow comes to an end over the High Plains.  Bands
of heavy snow with rates of 1 inch per hour are forecast to
produce additional snowfall amounts of 3-6 inches for central
North Dakota into portions of northwestern Minnesota and 6-8
inches from far northeastern North Dakota into far northwestern
Minnesota through late Friday morning.
