At 1000 AM EDT...Latest surface observations and RADAR indicate
light rain continuing to fall across northern Vermont, as a low
pressure system sits off the southern coast of Maine. A broad
swath of 5-9" rainfall totals stretching from northern Vermont to
northwestern Massachusetts has led to a rapid rise in rivers and
streams throughout the region with widespread significant reports
of flooding in towns and roadways. Since Sunday morning, numerous
flash flood warnings have already been issued across much of the
Northeast and New England.

The last batch of light rain across northern Vermont will continue
to dissipate and move northward into Canda during the Tuesday
morning hours as the surface low pressure system located over the
southeastern Maine coast weakens and pushes further offshore. Any
additional accumulations will be light. Flood Warnings remain in
effect for much of New England through Tuesday, with some rivers
and streams expected to continue to rise through Tuesday morning
and afternoon. While the heaviest precipitation has come to an
end, flash flooding concerns of rivers and streams will continue
for the next several days. It is crucial to remain weather aware
and have multiple ways to receive warning notifications.

This will be the last Storm Summary issued by the Weather
Prediction Center for this event. Please refer to your local
National Weather service office for additional information.
