Rainfall
NWS Weather Prediction Center College Park MD
1100 PM EDT Mon Jul 10 2023

...Heavy rain to wind down tonight, but considerable flash
flooding continues...

Flash Flood Warnings are in effect for parts of northern Vermont
and New Hampshire.

Flood Warnings are in effect for portions of the Adirondack
Mountains and northern New England.

Flood Advisories are in effect for parts of southern Vermont and
New Hampshire.

Flood Watches are in effect for parts of northeastern New York and
northern New England.

For a detailed graphical depiction of the latest watches, warnings
and advisories, please see www.weather.gov

At 1000 PM EDT...A slow-moving upper-low is starting to organize
over the interior Northeast, helping to induce regions of
slow-moving storms over much of northeastern New York and New
England. The surface low pressure system is located over the
southeastern New England coast, with a central pressure of 1006mb
(29.71 in. Hg). The surface cold front extends southward into the
Atlantic Ocean. The heaviest regions of precipitation are
currently located ahead of the front over southeastern Maine, with
a separate maxima over the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New
York. Some locations over New England have already accumulated
5-10 inches of rain in a short period of time over highly
saturated soils. As a result of the heavy rain, rivers and streams
have risen rapidly, with widespread significant reports of
flooding in towns and roadways. Since Sunday morning, numerous
flash flood warnings have already been issued across much of the
Northeast and New England.
