This system is forecast to stall just offshore of the Northeast
through tonight into Wednesday morning. Heavy snow, strong winds,
and coastal flooding in the Northeast will continue through most
of today, then conditions will begin to gradually improve this
evening and tonight. Intense snowfall rates and strong winds will
produce dangerous travel conditions, widespread power outages, and
tree damage. Additional snowfall accumulations of 6-12 inches are
expected for many areas in upstate New York and New England, and
locally higher amounts will be possible. Minor to localized
moderate coastal flooding and beach erosion are forecast to
continue into Wednesday.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 1100 PM EDT. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
