powerful Nor'easter begins to pull away from New England...

High Wind Warnings and Wind Advisories are in effect along coastal
New England from ME to western CT, including Long Island

At 1000 AM EDT...Surface observations depicted a surface low with
a minimum central pressure of 976 millibars, or 28.82 in/Hg,
located 100 miles south of Martha's Vineyard. National Weather
Service Radar indicated lingering showers over much of MA, RI, and
CT that will begin to wind down as the storm pushes farther east
into the Atlantic.

The low-pressure system is expected to move eastward into the
Atlantic, with winds beginning to subside in New England as the
day progresses. Rainfall will continue to affect coastal New
England through Wednesday, diminishing Wednesday night. Additional
rainfall amounts of 0.25-0.50 inches are expected.
