southern California into tonight.
Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for the Sierra Nevada.
Flood Advisories are in effect for portions of the Sacramento and
San Joaquin Valleys of California.

At 700 PM PDT...Lingering low pressure with a central pressure of
984 mb, or 29.06 in/Hg, was analyzed offshore Vancouver Island in
British Colombia, at approximately 50.2 north, 127.9 west.
National Weather Service Doppler Radar detected sporadic light to
locally moderate showers over portions of the Pacific Northwest
and Northern California.

The heavy rain and snow threat is diminishing as the frontal
system moves into the Great Basin and the surface low continues to
weaken. Rain chances are forecast to remain over Northwest
California through Friday, but hazardous precipitation is not
anticipated.
