...Heavy rain impacts central Arizona as heavy rain/snow moves
across southeastern Idaho...
Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are in effect
for portions of the northern and central Rockies, as well as the
eastern Great Basin.
Winter Weather Advisories are in effect from the northern High
Plains through the central Plains into the mid-Mississippi Valley.
Avalanche Warnings are in effect across portions of Idaho.
Flash Flood Warnings are in effect across portions of central
Arizona.
Flash Flood Watches are in effect from portions of southern
California through central and southeastern Arizona.

At 600 PM PST...The center of a large-scale low pressure system
with an estimated central pressure of 982 mb, or 28.99 inches of
mercury, was located a few hundred miles west of Vancouver Island.
Moisture associated with a pair of cold fronts continued to bring
widespread precipitation across the western U.S. National Weather
Service Doppler Radar and surface observations indicated moderate
to heavy rain was occurring across Arizona. Meanwhile, light
snow, rain, and some freezing rain was found in the colder air
mass across the Pacific Northwest into northern Idaho and
northwestern Montana. Farther south, an area of heavy rain/snow
was moving through southeastern Idaho while light to moderate
rain/snow was indicated across portions of the Great Basin.

Widespread precipitation across much of the western U.S. is
expected to gradually become more scattered in nature on Friday as
the main energy associated with a cold front moves into the
Plains. Up to 2 inches of rain is possible across central Arizona
where flash flooding threat remains possible through tonight. Up
to a foot of snow is possible over the higher elevations of
northern and central Rockies into the northern Intermountain
region.
