AT 900 AM EST...A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WITH A CENTRAL PRESSURE OF
992 MB...29.29 INCHES...WAS LOCATED NEAR CAPE COD...MASSACHUSETTS.
THIS OCCLUDED LOW HAD A COLD FRONT MOVING THROUGH THE ATLANTIC
WITH THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF THE FRONT PUSHING SOUTHEAST INTO
CENTRAL FLORIDA. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADARS AND SURFACE
OBSERVATIONS INDICATED A LARGE AREA OF WINTRY PRECIPITATION WAS
COVERING MUCH OF NEW ENGLAND...WITH LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW FALLING
IN THE NORTHERN HALF AND THE INTERIOR OF THE REGION. THERE WERE
ISOLATED REPORTS OF FREEZING RAIN IN THE SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF NEW
ENGLAND. LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN WAS BEING REPORTED ALONG THE
ATLANTIC COASTLINE OF THE SOUTHEAST AND THE CAROLINAS.

NORTHEASTWARD ALONG THE NEW ENGLAND COASTLINE ON SUNDAY AND BE
MOVING OVER NOVA SCOTIA BY SUNDAY NIGHT. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO FALL
THROUGH THE NORTHERN HALF OF NEW ENGLAND ON SUNDAY. ADDITIONAL
SNOW ACCUMULATIONS FOR WESTERN NEW YORK INCLUDE ONE TO FOUR
INCHES...AND MORE THAN A FOOT OF SNOW IN NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND.
SPECIFICALLY...THE NORTHERN HALF OF MAINE COULD SEE CLOSE TO 18
INCHES OF SNOW BY THE END OF THIS EVENT. IN ADDITION...UP TO A
QUARTER OF AN INCH OF ICE ACCUMULATION IS POSSIBLE ALONG THE NEW
ENGLAND COAST AS THE INTENSIFYING LOW CONTINUES ALONG THE
COASTLINE THROUGHOUT SUNDAY.
