AT 100 PM PST, THE STRONG COLD FRONT THAT BROUGHT WIDESPREAD HEAVY
PRECIPITATION AND HIGH WINDS TO THE WEST COAST YESTERDAY HAD MOVED
RAPIDLY EASTWARD INTO THE CENTRAL ROCKIES AND OUT INTO THE PLAINS
STATES. MEANWHILE, AN EXPANSIVE AREA OF LOW PRESSURE WITH A
CENTRAL PRESSURE OF 980 MB (28.94 INCHES) REMAINED NEARLY
STATIONARY IN THE GULF OF ALASKA. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADARS
AND SURFACE OBSERVATIONS INDICATED LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN
CONTINUING TO IMPACT COASTAL AREAS OF WASHINGTON AND NORTHWESTERN
OREGON. FARTHER SOUTH, FROM SOUTHERN OREGON INTO CALIFORNIA,
PRECIPITATION HAS ENDED FOR THE MOMENT IN THE WAKE OF THE FRONTAL
SYSTEM NOW OVER THE ROCKIES. FARTHER INLAND, LIGHT TO MODERATE

HOWEVER, ANOTHER FRONT IS FORECAST TO REACH THE WEST COAST BY
TUESDAY, BRINGING ANOTHER ROUND OF HEAVY PRECIPITATION. AN
ADDITIONAL 2 TO 5 INCHES OF RAIN...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS,
WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS AREAS OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AS WELL AS
WESTERN OREGON/WASHINGTON. AT HIGHER ELEVATIONS, WHERE SNOW IS
FALLING, AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 3 FEET OF SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE
THROUGH WEDNESDAY. THIS INCLUDES THE NORTHERN CASCADES, AND INTO
THE NORTHERN PORTION OF THE INTERMOUNTAIN WEST. STRONG AND GUSTY
WINDS WILL ALSO BE LIKELY FOR THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS.
