AT 1200 PM PST...AN UPPER-LEVEL LOW LOCATED OVER THE NORTHEAST
PACIFIC HAS INDUCED A SURFACE LOW AND ASSOCIATED FRONTAL STRUCTURE
ALONG THE COAST OF THE WESTERN UNITED STATES. NATIONAL WEATHER
SERVICE DOPPLER RADARS AND SURFACE OBSERVATIONS INDICATED SOME
MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN FALLING IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AND
SOUTHWESTERN OREGON. SOME ADDITIONAL WIDESPREAD LIGHTER
PRECIPITATION IS ALSO FALLING IN PARTS OF CENTRAL CALIFORNIA...
NORTHERN OREGON... AND MUCH OF WASHINGTON. THE MAJORITY OF THE
PRECIPITATION IS FALLING IN THE FORM OF RAIN. HOWEVER... IN THE
HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE CASCADE AND SIERRA MOUNTAINS THE
PRECIPITATION WAS FALLING AS SNOW.

MUCH OF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST AND NORTHERN CALIFORNIA THROUGH AT
LEAST SUNDAY. SOME AREAS COULD RECEIVE UPWARDS OF 10 TO 12 INCHES
OF RAIN WITH THIS EVENT. GIVEN THE STRONG PRESSURE GRADIENT
BETWEEN THE HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE ROCKIES AND THIS SYSTEM... SOME
GUSTY WINDS ARE ALSO EXPECTED ACROSS THE ENTIRE REGION.
