...SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS MOVING INTO THE SOUTHEASTERN U.S.
HAVE BECOME MORE WIDELY SCATTERED IN THE PAST FEW HOURS...A NEW
CLUSTER OF THUNDERSTORMS FORMING NEAR THE GULF COAST...  

FLASH FLOOD WATCHES ARE IN EFFECT FOR COASTAL ALABAMA AND INTO THE
WESTERN PANHANDLE OF FLORIDA.

AT 300 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADARS AND SURFACE
OBSERVATIONS INDICATED THAT SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS HAD
GENERALLY BECOME MORE WIDELY SCATTERED IN THE PAST FEW HOURS OVER
THE SOUTHEASTERN U.S.  HOWEVER...SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE
DEVELOPING IN THE WESTERN PANHANDLE OF FLORIDA...AS WELL AS NEAR
THE COAST OF ALABAMA AND MISSISSIPPI. IN ADDITION...A NEW LINE OF
THUNDERSTORMS WAS DEVELOPING IN WEST-CENTRAL GEORGIA.  CLUSTERS OF
SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS WERE ALSO FORMING IN NORTHEASTERN
ALABAMA...PARTS OF KENTUCKY AS WELL AS IN THE OHIO VALLEY.  
ELSEWHERE...A CLUSTER OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WAS MOVING OFF
THE COAST OF SOUTH CAROLINA INTO THE ATLANTIC.

UPPER LEVEL TROUGH...NEW AREAS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE
EXPECTED TO FORM OVER THE SOUTHEASTERN U.S. TODAY. AN ADDITIONAL 1
TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE REGION THROUGH TUESDAY
NIGHT...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE. THE HIGHEST
POTENTIAL FOR ADDITIONAL FLOODING TODAY IS EXPECTED TO BE NEAR THE
COASTAL AREAS OF ALABAMA...AND WESTERN PANHANDLE OF FLORIDA.
