999 MB...29.50 INCHES...WAS CENTERED OVER NORTHERN LAKE
ONTARIO...AND MOVING EAST NORTHEASTWARD. A FRONTAL BOUNDARY
EXTENDED SOUTHWARD FROM THIS AREA OF LOW PRESSURE THROUGH THE
MID-ATLANTIC STATES AND INTO THE DEEP SOUTH. LIGHT TO MODERATE
SNOW WAS FALLING ACROSS AREAS FROM NORTHERN NEW YORK STATE
EASTWARD TO THE SOUTHERN COAST OF MAINE. CLOSE TO THE COAST...FROM
MAINE TO MASSACHUSETTS...GUSTY WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH WERE REPORTED
AT TIMES. ON THE SOUTHERN EDGE OF THE SNOW...INCLUDING BOSTON AND
PROVIDENCE...PRECIPITATION WAS FALLING IN THE FORM OF RAIN.
SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE AFFECTING PORTIONS OF THE
DEEP SOUTH...AHEAD OF THE COLD FRONT.

WEAKENING TODAY AS IT MOVES TOWARD NEW ENGLAND. AN ADDITIONAL 2 TO
7 INCHES OF SNOW IS POSSIBLE TODAY ACROSS AREAS FROM NORTHERN NEW
YORK INTO CENTRAL MAINE. THE HEAVIEST SNOW WILL FALL IN THE HIGHER
ELEVATIONS OF NEW YORK...AND ALONG THE COAST OF MAINE. SNOW WILL
BEGIN TO TAPER OFF ACROSS NEW ENGLAND TONIGHT BEFORE ENDING FRIDAY
MORNING...WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SOME LINGERING LAKE EFFECT SNOW
SHOWERS.
