WAS LOCATED ABOUT 90 MILES EAST NORTHEAST OF DETROIT MICHIGAN. A
SECONDARY 983 MB... 29.02 INCHES... SURFACE LOW WAS LOCATED ABOUT
23 MILES WEST SOUTHWEST OF NEW YORK CITY. A VERY WEAK OCCLUSION
CONNECTED THE TWO LOWS AND A COLD FRONT EXTENDED FROM THE
SECONDARY LOW SOUTHEAST THROUGH NORTHERN NEW JERSEY AND INTO THE
WESTERN ATLANTIC. A WARM FRONT ALSO EXTENDED FROM THIS LOW INTO
THE WESTERN ATLANTIC OCEAN OFF THE COAST OF LONG ISLAND. NATIONAL
WEATHER SERVICE RADARS AND SURFACE OBSERVATIONS INDICATED A LARGE
AREA OF MAINLY LIGHT SNOW FROM THE MIDWEST AND GREAT LAKES
SOUTHWARD INTO THE OHIO AND TENNESSEE RIVER VALLEYS. IN NEW
ENGLAND... EAST OF THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY... MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN
WAS FALLING ACROSS MUCH OF THE REGION FROM NEW YORK INTO SOUTHERN
NEW HAMPSHIRE AND VERMONT. FARTHER NORTH IN NORTHERN VERMONT...

TONIGHT BEFORE BEGINNING TO TAPER OFF SATURDAY MORNING AS THE
EASTERN SURFACE LOW MOVES NORTHWARD ACROSS NEW YORK STATE AND INTO
QUEBEC. ACROSS THE NORTHEAST...LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW WILL BE
POSSIBLE THROUGH THIS MORNING ACROSS NORTHERN VERMONT...NEW
HAMPSHIRE AND MAINE. SNOW SHOWERS WILL BE POSSIBLE ON THE BACKSIDE
OF THE SYSTEM ACROSS NEW ENGLAND AS THE COLD FRONT PASSES THROUGH
FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY MORNING. AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 4 INCHES OF
SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE CENTRAL GREAT LAKES AND OHIO
RIVER VALLEY. THE HEAVIEST ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS ARE
FORECAST ACROSS THE CENTRAL APPALACHIANS WHERE 6 TO 10 INCHES ARE
POSSIBLE...AND IN THE LAKE EFFECT AREAS EAST OF LAKES ERIE AND
ONTARIO WHERE A FOOT OR MORE WILL BE POSSIBLE IN SOME AREAS.
THE NEXT STORM SUMMARY WILL BE ISSUED BY THE HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL
PREDICTION CENTER AT 400 PM EST. PLEASE REFER TO YOUR LOCAL
