FALLS SOUTH DAKOTA. A STATIONARY BOUNDARY EXTENDS TO THE NORTH AND
EAST INTO NORTHERN MINNESOTA. A COLD FRONT EXTENDS TO THE SOUTH
AND IS MOVING EAST SOUTHEAST ACROSS WESTERN IOWA AND EASTERN
KANSAS. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR AND SURFACE OBSERVATIONS
INDICATE MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW FALLING IN EASTERN SOUTH
DAKOTA...MINNESOTA...WISCONSIN...AND CENTRAL IOWA. FARTHER SOUTH
AND EAST...LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN IS FALLING IN SOUTHEASTERN
IOWA...SOUTHEASTERN WISCONSIN...AND NORTHERN ILLINOIS. DUE TO
STRONG HIGH PRESSURE TO THE NORTHWEST AND NORTHEAST...A STRONG
PRESSURE GRADIENT HAS DEVELOPED...AND IS RESULTING IN SUSTAINED
WINDS OF 15 TO 30 MPH. THE STRONGEST WINDS ARE IN WAKE OF THE COLD
FRONT AND STATIONARY BOUNDARY ACROSS PORTIONS OF EASTERN
NORTH/SOUTH DAKOTA AND NEBRASKA. WIND GUSTS HAVE BEEN OBSERVED AS
HIGH AS 40 MPH.

AFTERNOON. SNOWFALL OF 6-12 INCHES IS POSSIBLE ACROSS PORTIONS OF
CENTRAL MINNESOTA AND NORTHERN WISCONSIN TODAY WITH LESSER AMOUNTS
TO THE NORTH AND SOUTH. SNOW WILL SPREAD INTO MICHIGAN LATER TODAY
AND TONIGHT WITH LIGHT ACCUMULATIONS EXPECTED THROUGH THIS
EVENING.
