...LIGHT SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN CONTINUES TO IMPACT
SOUTHERN TEXAS INTO LOUISIANA...

WINTER STORM WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF WESTERN AND
CENTRAL TEXAS... INCLUDING THE SAN ANTONIO AND AUSTIN METRO AREAS.
ICE STORM WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHEASTERN
TEXAS... INCLUDING THE HOUSTON METRO AREA.

SNOW ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT FOR AREAS OF NORTHEAST
TEXAS...INCLUDING THE DALLAS/FORT WORTH METRO AREAS.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT FOR AREAS OF TEXAS
SURROUNDING THE AFOREMENTIONED WARNINGS... EXTENDING EASTWARD INTO
LOUISIANA AND SOUTHWEST MISSISSIPPI. 

ARCTIC HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE PLAINS HAS LOCKED IN COLD AIR OVER
CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN TEXAS. TEMPERATURES CONTINUE TO HOVER NEAR OR
BELOW FREEZING ALONG AND NORTH OF HIGHWAY I-10. AN UPPER-LEVEL
DISTURBANCE MOVING ACROSS TEXAS HAS BEEN BRINGING LIGHT TO
OCCASIONALLY MODERATE SNOW ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL AND NORTHEASTERN
TEXAS WITH A BAND OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET THROUGH SOUTHEASTERN
TEXAS INTO LOUISIANA WHERE MID-LEVEL TEMPERATURES ARE ABOVE
FREEZING.

AT 9 AM CST WEDNESDAY... DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR CONTINUED TO SHOW
LIGHT TO MODERATE PRECIPITATION MOVING FROM WEST TO EAST FROM
NORTHERN MEXICO ACROSS MUCH OF CENTRAL AND EASTERN TEXAS INTO
LOUISIANA. SURFACE OBSERVATIONS CONTINUED TO INDICATE LIGHT SNOW
OVER MUCH OF SOUTHWEST TEXAS...AND EXPANDING INTO NORTHEASTERN
TEXAS. A BAND OF FREEZING RAIN WAS LOCATED FARTHER SOUTH ACROSS
SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS INTO CENTRAL LOUISIANA. 

THE HEAVIEST SNOWS...UP TO 6 INCHES...HAVE FALLEN OVER THE WESTERN
HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF TEXAS IN THE VICINITY OF THE BIG BEND REGION.
SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE MUCH LESS ACROSS CENTRAL AND
NORTHEASTERN TEXAS WHERE THE PRECIPITATION WILL BE A MIXTURE OF
SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN. ICE ACCUMULATIONS UP TO
ONE-QUARTER INCH ARE POSSIBLE AND WILL CAUSE TRAVEL PROBLEMS AND
POSSIBLE POWER OUTAGES.

AS THIS MOISTURE CONTINUES EASTWARD...AREAS OF GEORGIA AND SOUTH
CAROLINA COULD EXPERIENCE SOME FREEZING RAIN DURING WEDNESDAY
NIGHT AND EARLY THURSDAY.  WINTER WEATHER AND FREEZING RAIN
ADVISORIES HAVE BEEN POSTED FOR THOSE AREAS.
