SOUTHERN TEXAS INTO LOUISIANA...
WINTER STORM WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR MUCH OF WESTERN AND
CENTRAL TEXAS... INCLUDING THE SAN ANTONIO AND AUSTIN METRO AREAS.
ICE STORM WARNINGS ARE IN EFFECT FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHEASTERN
TEXAS... INCLUDING THE HOUSTON METRO AREA.
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT FOR AREAS OF TEXAS
SURROUNDING THE AFOREMENTIONED WARNINGS... EXTENDING EASTWARD INTO
LOUISIANA AND SOUTH CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI.
ARCTIC HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE PLAINS HAS LOCKED IN COLD AIR OVER
CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN TEXAS. TEMPERATURES CONTINUE TO HOVER NEAR OR
BELOW FREEZING FROM HIGHWAY I-10 NORTHWARD. AN UPPER-LEVEL
DISTURBANCE APPROACHING FROM MEXICO HAS BEEN BRINGING LIGHT TO
OCCASIONALLY MODERATE SNOW ACROSS SOUTHWESTERN TEXAS WITH A BAND
OF FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET THROUGH SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS INTO
LOUISIANA WHERE MID-LEVEL TEMPERATURES ARE ABOVE FREEZING. WITH
TEMPERATURES CURRENTLY FALLING SLOWLY...PRECIPITATION IN WESTERN
LOUISIANA HAS BEGUN CHANGING OVER TO FREEZING RAIN.

NORTHERN MEXICO ACROSS MUCH OF CENTRAL AND SOUTHEASTERN TEXAS INTO
LOUISIANA. SURFACE OBSERVATIONS CONTINUED TO INDICATE LIGHT TO
OCCASIONALLY MODERATE SNOW OVER MUCH OF SOUTHWEST TEXAS WITH A
BAND OF FREEZING RAIN LOCATED FARTHER SOUTH ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL
TEXAS INTO CENTRAL LOUISIANA. AS TEMPERATURES DROP DURING THE
EARLY MORNING HOURS AND MOISTURE CONTINUES TO STREAM IN FROM
TEXAS...THE POSSIBILITY OF FREEZING RAIN WILL EXIST FOR SOUTH
CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI AND POSSIBLY INTO NORTHERN ALABAMA. IN
ADDITION...LATER IN THE DAY ON WEDNESDAY...AREAS OF NORTHERN
GEORGIA AND THE UPSTATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA COULD EXPERIENCE A
CHANGEOVER TO FREEZING RAIN.
THE HEAVIEST SNOWS SHOULD BE OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS IN THE
VICINITY OF THE BIG BEND REGION. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE MUCH
LESS ACROSS CENTRAL INTO SOUTHERN TEXAS WHERE THE PRECIPITATION
WILL BE A MIXTURE OF SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN. ICE
ACCUMULATIONS UP TO ONE-QUARTER INCH ARE POSSIBLE AND WILL CAUSE
TRAVEL PROBLEMS AND POSSIBLE POWER OUTAGES.
THE NEXT STORM SUMMARY WILL BE ISSUED BY THE HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL
PREDICTION CENTER AT 9 AM CST WEDNESDAY. PLEASE REFER TO YOUR
