The low pressure system will move quickly northeast tonight and
exit the region into the Canadian Maritimes on Sunday morning.
Heavy precipitation (mainly snow, sleet, and freezing rain) will
remain a threat through the overnight hours. There is a high
probability (70-95%) that an additional 6 inches or more of snow
will fall in central and northern Maine, and there will likely be
additional ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch in
southern and eastern Maine. Precipitation will taper off and winds
will subside on Sunday morning as the system exits the region.
The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 1100 AM EDT. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
